I am Tharindu Weerasinghe, a freelance web and ecommerce developer. Over the past decade I have delivered more than a thousand websites — custom WordPress themes, Elementor and WooCommerce builds, Shopify storefronts and bespoke applications in PHP, Node and React.
Built on the platforms your business already runs on
What I do
Rather than a long list done adequately. Whatever the stack, the standard is the same.
Custom themes written from scratch, or Elementor builds when you want to edit pages yourself. I recommend whichever genuinely suits the project — not whichever bills more.
Shopify storefronts in Liquid and WooCommerce stores — catalogues, variants, custom sections, plus the payment, shipping and tax configuration behind them.
Client portals, dashboards, booking systems and internal tools in Node and React — authentication, role-based access, APIs and reporting views.
Inherited a slow or unstable site? I diagnose query load, render blocking, image weight and plugin conflicts — then carry out the fixes, in priority order.
The work
A large share of my work sits under non-disclosure agreements or was delivered white-label through agencies, so client names and live URLs are not published here. What follows is the shape of what I build — and the interfaces below are illustrative, drawn for this page rather than lifted from any client.
Multi-page brand sites with a controlled design system, custom post types for services, case studies and team, and enquiry forms wired straight into the client's CRM or inbox. Built so the marketing team can add pages without calling a developer.
Catalogues that stay fast as they grow: variant handling, filtered collections, custom product sections and a checkout that does not lose people. I configure the payment, shipping and tax side too, so the store is genuinely ready to take orders on launch day.
Booking platforms, client portals and internal tools where the business logic is the point. Authentication, role-based permissions, third-party APIs and reporting views that load in one go rather than one spinner at a time.
Working on something confidential? That is routine for me — I sign NDAs without fuss and work white-label under agency branding when needed. I can walk you through private demos and relevant case studies on a call. Request a walkthrough →
Process
No mystery, no month-long silences. You know what is happening and what happens next.
A call, then a written scope: what is being built, what it costs, what it does not include, and the date it lands. Fixed price wherever the scope allows.
Structure first, then the visual layer, then the functionality. You see it on a staging URL from week one — not as a surprise at the end.
Two rounds of revisions included. Cross-browser and mobile testing, performance pass, accessibility pass, and every form and payment path checked.
Deployment, redirects, analytics and search console. Then a written handover and a walkthrough recording so your team can run it without me.
Get a written scope, a fixed price and a launch date — usually within one working day of your first message.
Clients
Clients across the UK, US, Ireland, the Gulf and beyond — many of whom come back.

FAQ
A brochure site is typically one to two weeks. A multi-page business site with custom templates runs three to six weeks. Ecommerce and applications depend entirely on scope — you will get a date in writing before anything starts, and I hold to it.
If your team will restructure pages often and wants full drag-and-drop control, Elementor is the sensible choice and I build it cleanly. If you need bespoke templates, unusual functionality, or the absolute best performance, a custom theme is worth the extra. I will tell you which one your project actually needs, including when that is the cheaper one.
Regularly. A significant share of my work is delivered under another agency's branding, and I sign NDAs as a matter of course. If you need me to stay invisible to your client, that is completely normal.
You do — entirely, from day one. Hosting, domain and third-party accounts stay in your name, and the full codebase is handed over. There is no lock-in and no situation where you need my permission to move on.
Every project includes a support window for anything that turns out to be broken. Beyond that I offer maintenance retainers covering updates, backups, security monitoring and a set number of change hours each month — or you can simply call me when you need something.
Yes, and it is a large part of what I do. I will audit what is there first and tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or rebuilding, along with what each option costs.
